The Borat sequel, titled Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, was the first movie to be made during the Covid-19 shutdown.

The film halted production when the pandemic hit, but the crew managed to shoot the remaining scenes needed for the movie as quickly as coronavirus shooting restrictions were eased.

The film was mostly kept a fiercely guarded secret with only a handful of people aware of its production.

It has also been reported that Baron Cohen risked his own life on multiple occasions to film the sequel, including wearing a bulletproof vest on at least two days of filming.

Little is known about the plot of the film, but from the newly released trailer, we see Borat causing his signature carnage in America.

Fourteen years after his first journey to the United States, Borat takes his daughter, Sandra Jessica Parker Sagdiyev, to the country, with a hope that he can “gift her to someone close to the throne.” The duo go on to reveal more about American culture, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the US election.

The trailer also reveals Sacha Baron Cohen to be the culprit when Vice President Mike Pence was interrupted during the Conservative Political Action Conference. Baron Cohen is seen dressed as President Donald Trump while carrying a woman over his shoulder.

The original Borat was a box office success in 2006, grossing over $260 million worldwide. Sacha Baron Choen went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, and the film also landed an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
