Over to Toft Farm Fishery now and a week of spectacular results as the carp lake has fished its head off!!

New record catches at Toft’s Carp Lake:

On August2 at the Toft Open, 16 anglers fished the Carp Lake, with Pete Addison taking top spot once again with pellet paste and meat paste in the margins

1st = Pete Addison 274lb 8oz from peg 50; 2nd = Mick 156lb 4oz from peg 6; 3rd = David Boulton 127lb 4oz peg 1

Pete’s weight fell just 11oz short of snatching the lake record ...but it would have been short lived as on August 3, at the Carp Lake Mickey Reynolds’ midweek match produced an even bigger catch.

Well done to Tom Griffiths who has finally toppled Martin Paynter’s lake record of 275lb 2oz taken in August 2013.

1st = Tom Griffiths 282lb peg14 (hard 8mm pellet); 2nd = Gary Muddiman 265lb peg12; 3rd = Mickey Reynolds 124lb peg 53.

Friday August 5saw a team from Hull (Caradon AC) fish the Carp Lake and on Island Pegs.

1st = Roger Edmunds 211lb 10oz peg 49; 2nd = Norman Cox 166lb15oz peg 39; 3rd = Ian Jones = 138lbs peg 46.

Saturday saw the King of Toft fished the Carp Lake pegs 2 – 38.

1st = Carl Hulley 249lb 10oz peg 3; 2nd = Pete addison 240lb 12oz peg 5; 3rd = Dave Cleaver 17lb 8oz peg 36.

Just to finish, Toft would remind all match anglers that keep nets and landing nets should be stretched out on the bank, behind your pegs, for at least 15 minutes before being entered into the waters, preferably longer if possible. Wet nets should not be brought to matches. With KHV in the area all attempts should be made and precautions taken to ensure waters are kept free from this awful disease.

After I got this initial report from Mike at Toft I then received a text from Tuesday’s Toft Open and that man Pete Addison has not just broken the record again he has obliterated it!

He won the match with a staggering net of carp weighing 340lb 12oz !

Well done Pete... you are definitely the man to beat at the moment.

Runner-up was A. Humphrey with 153lb 4oz which was just one fish too good for third placed Dave Bolton with 149lb 2oz.
