ATHLETICS: Brother and sister county champions!

Rugby & Northampton AC athletes and brother and sister Craig and Kerry Murch were in record-breaking form in the Warwickshire County Championships at the weekend.

On Saturday Craig, fresh from his recent silver medal at the British University Championships, threw a mighty 66.96m in the Senior Men’s Hammer to improve his own record by 3m and take gold.

On Sunday Kerry, returning this season from three years of serious injuries, took the gold medal with a record breaking throw in the Senior Women’s Javelin of 45.61m.

This is also over the required standard for entry to the prestigious British Athletic Championships in June and Kerry now hopes to be invited so she can join Craig throwing at this major event.
