Club starting build up for 2014 season

Barby CC are about to start their preparation for the 2014 cricket season with the first winter nets on Sunday, February 2. This will run for 10 weeks finishing on April 16 and be held at Lawrence Sheriff School 4pm-5.30pm.

Barby are always interested in new players to help improve our teams at all levels, if you are interested in playing next season or attending nets, please contact Craig Lestor on 07904 804674. Nets are open to anyone who is eligible to play for the clubs senior teams.

Barby CC offers cricket for a range of abilities, whether it be high standard local league cricket or a Sunday friendly game all played on the outskirts of the village in a wonderful location. The club also boasts some of the best facilities in the area (both on and off the field).

The first XI plays in the Warwickshire Cricket League division one and are always on the look out for good quality players. The Second XI are in the reserves division one of the same league. The third XI also plays at Barby on a separate pitch in the Northants Cricket League. There is also a Wednesday night team that plays in Division one of the Rugby cricket league and a Sunday team that plays a range of fixtures that caters for all abilities.

Barby CC also has a ladies team that play mainly on a Monday night.

Barby are also committed to ensure that it brings on younger players, many of the juniors are given the opportunity to play in senior cricket to help develop their skills. They also have a range of junior teams who play fixtures against other local teams.

Added to this the club opens its doors to juniors on a Friday night, this usually starts at the beginning of May. This will encompass trained ECB coaches passing their knowledge, through coaching, playing and if needed one-to-one support. The session lasts about an hour and they have training for 5+ through to 15-16 year olds.
