Barby 1st XI v Solihull Blossomfield

Barby took on Solihull Blossomfield on the back of some encouraging results over the last few weeks, but found the team at the top of the league a tough nut to crack.

Batting first Barby managed to reach 161-7 off their 50 overs this was in the main due to Will Sinclair 61 supported by Joel Gleghorn with 22. Barby struggled with some tight bowling from Satterwite 3-43 and Bashir 2-26.

In reply Barby took three early wickets but a partnership from Edmond 47 and James 30 saw the home team reach 162-6 despite losing three late wickets, Will Sinclair 4-56 and Adam Shay 2-36 the wicket takers for Barby. This result sees the first XI in mid table.

Barby 2nd XI v Olton & West Warwick

The second XI were at home to Olton and West Warwick CC and looked to be heading for their first win of the season having bowled the visitors out for just 122 wickets going to Stev Stipanovic 3-25, Nigel Hancock 3-17, Troy Reeves 2-37 and Dave Knightbridge 1-35. However Barby’s batting frailties showed up again with Barby being bowled out for 114 with just Tom Middleton making 46, C Chapman 4-20 and C Lamb 4-13 being the main wicket takers.

West Haddon v Barby 3rd XI

The third XI were away to league leaders West Haddon and batted first reaching 133 all out, John Hardbattle hit 44 but the only real support came from James Aylett-Hughes 18 Dan McNally took 7-45. In reply West Haddon were soon in control with Sam Chambers 41 and James Allen 60 not out leading the home team to a speedy victory, Graham Lamb taking the only wicket to fall as they reached 134-1 in 20 overs.
