£500k Kilsby Lane project officially kicks off next week
Rugby Town Juniors’ £500k astro turf project is to be opened next week.
The FIFA 2 Star pitch at Kilsby Lane, funded by Sport England, Wren and the club will be opened by Rugby MP Mark Pawsey.
Representatives from the FA, Sport England, Wren, McDonalds and Nationwide windows will also be present.
Before the event the club have arranged some games on the pitch.
On Wednesday (October 26) starting at 10am there will be a four-team tournament, between Rugby Town, Coventry City, Aston Villa and Wolves U16/17 academy players. Kick-off is at 10am with the club open for refreshments.
All football enthusiasts are invited and entry is free.
On Friday (28th) the club teams will stage a Reds v Blues all day game, with everyone playing on the pitch.
There will also be demonstrations from the club’s walking football team, girls’ football,Coerver Coaching and St Andrews RFC playing tag rugby. The club have also put on a funfair for everyone with the official opening at 2pm.
Again everyone is welcome and entry is free. The club’s refreshment areas will be open.
