The Barley Mow started really well in their game against Athletico Belbao and had won four corners within the first five minutes but none were converted. They did take the lead in the 12th minute when Craig McCauley was put through and he slotted past the oncoming keeper, writes Stuart Taylor.

Athletico forwards were struggling to break down the Barley defence and created very little during the half. With just two minutes to go before half time, Lee Golding put a cross into the box and Sean Drake turned it around the keeper to make it 2-0 at the break.

Athletico started the second half really well and within a minute had pulled it back to 2-1 after Liam Sherriff headed home a cross. The Barley were still on top and but for some superb goalkeeping from Lee Mace in the Athletico goal - who pulled off three point blank saves - the Barley would have stormed ahead. The Barley’s efforts eventually paid off as McCauley headed home a Rob Littlejohn cross for his second of the day and two minutes later, with virtually the last kick of the game Rob Littlejohn volleyed home from ten yards out to make it 4-1 at the finish.

Clifton Bulls took a welcome three points with a 5-3 win against the Royal Oak. Luke Townsend hit a hat-trick and there was a brace for Ollie Hartnack.

In the race for the division two title Rugby FC lost 2-1 to close rivals Drayton Grange, both teams are level on points with one game to play.
