A great performance by Dunchurch, against higher league opposition, saw them make it to their first ever cup final after 18 seasons.
They now face Audley Rangers in the Chairman’s Cup final at Boldmere St Michael on Thursday, May 5, kick-off 7.15pm.
Cole Lane started strongly with ex West Brom player Sneekes setting up some good moves in midfield.
Dunchurch took the lead early in the second half when a strong run by Hegerty saw him brought down in the area and Nick Baker struck home the penalty.
The home team levelled after 70 minutes with an own goal when a dangerous cross hit an unfortunate Fitzhugh and sailed into the net.
Dunchurch almost went ahead again in the first half of extra time when Sammy Thorpe hit a tremendous shot from outside the area that the keeper saved.
With eight minutes to go Dunchurch got a deserved winner when Pete Hegerty collected the ball outside the area, held off some strong challenges, and struck an unstoppable shot past the keeper.
