Rugby's FuturePro Under 7s champions at Coventry Saracens

Saturday saw the FuturePro Under 7s take part in their first ever tournament together.

The event was at Coventry Saracens JFC and the squad of nine, consisted of four players from Rugby Town Colts U7s, two Rugby Town Pumas and three from Baginton.

After eight league games they topped the table, winning all eight, scoring 24 goals and conceding only one.

Every player shone and every player scored, even James the goal keeper who slotted home a penalty.

Kaydon and Lowan were a wall of defence, Jay, Hudson and Charley the Baginton lads worked endlessly in midfield, Elliot drove the lads forward and Charlie and Riley bagged most of the goals.

The semi-final against St Nicholas Sharks was a tight game, but the team held their own and reached the final narrowly by a single goal by Charlie.

The final was against the hosts whose defence was so solid the Rugby side just couldn’t break through. So it had to be decided on golden goal.

With time ticking a free kick was awarded and Riley stepped up to smash home the winner to win the trophy. Well done lads and managers Jamie and Tom.
