FOOTBALL: Great performances by Rugby & District U12s

Rugby & District Boys U12 Football Team have put in some excellent performances so far this season and have been a real credit to the town’s young crop of footballers.

Playing against districts such as Wolverhampton, Aston, Saltley & Erdington and Derby, the boys have stepped up and shown both the technical ability and determination to match these more established and much larger districts, losing 2-3 to Aston, Saltley & Erdington, drawing 2-2 with Derby and beating Wolverhampton 2-3.

Their latest run-out saw them produce a quite amazing performance in what was an outstanding game away at Brierley Hill & Dudley, eventually drawing 4-4.

As a result of playing district football two of the squad have been selected for academies at Coventry City FC and Northampton Town FC and the rest of the team are making excellent progress.
