FOOTBALL: Hillmorton beat Division 2 leaders CRC Reserves

In the Rugby & District Sunday Football League Division 1, Caldecott Arms conceded their 34th league goal in two games as they lost 14-1 to CRC Res.

Lewis Dawson scored Caldecott Arms’ goal with a long- range free kick that caught the underside of the bar and found the net.

Royal Oak United maintained their grip at the top with a 7-3 victory over Webb Ellis Eagles.

Matty Evans scored a brace for Royal Oak United with other goals coming from Matty Shipman, Josh Goodwin, Michael Glover, Drew Coleman and Lewis Hearne.

Webb Ellis Eagles goals came from McKinley Mooney, Dale Harris and Harry Wareham.

In Division 2 Hillmorton beat league leaders CRC Res 4-2. Kasey Hughes hit a hat- trick for Hillmorton, with Jack Clarke scoring the other.

In the Daventry derby, The George ran out 6-0 winners over Daventry Town Jaguars.

In the Open cup, The Paddox Vets drew 3-3 to Bar 8 FC. Andrew Gilroy scored on his debut for The Paddox with Scott Goodwin adding the other two, including an outrageous overhead kick.

Bar 8 scorers were Connor Shaw, Josh Slater and an own goal.

This Sunday’s games (December 15), all with an 11am kick-off are:

Division 1: Caldecott Arms v Webb Ellis Lions. Division 2: CRC Res v The George.

Division 3: GE Victoria v Hillmorton Old Boys.

Open Cup: Braunston v Hillmorton, Stag and Pheasant Newton v The Paddox.
