As part of SFF’s community schools programme they invited schools from Rugby and surrounding areas.

A sunny Thursday saw school years 3 and 4 attend. Some excellent football was played throughout the day, resulting in Paddox Primary winning the overall event beating Rokeby in the final.

A great day was had by all the schools. The event was organised and refereed by SFF apprentices and BTEC Sport students, who did an excellent job in running the tournament.

Another sunny day last Friday opened the doors to years 5 and 6, attended by teams from nine schools.

The football on show was very competitive and some great talent was on display throughout the day.

The semi-finals were battled out between The Revel v Rokeby and Henry Hinde v Abbots Farm, resulting in The Revel playing Henry Hinde in a very competitive game of football in the final. The Revel won 2-0 to take the Super 7s Trophy.

Dan Elliott, Director of the Foundation said: “To see the 16 to 18 year-olds we work with on a daily basis being put into a real work environment, planning and facilitating the whole tournament from start to finish was great to see.

“They communicated effectively throughout the day and were a great example of the good work the foundation does with these young adults.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the schools that took part in the tournament making it a great two days of competition.

“Our thanks are also extended to Rugby Town Junior Football Club for the use of their fantastic Kilsby Lane facility.”
