Girls unbeaten at Daventry

The U12 girls
The U12 girls

Rugby Town Girls under 12s drew one game and won all the rest in the Daventry Town FC tournament to come out as cup winners. The girls really stepped up their football on the day and ensured every one of the nine players in the six-a-side tournament scored!

It has taken hard work at coaching to bring all girls up to the level they are now with the back up of the head coach and club behind them. The style of coaching and determination shown by the girls has ensured they played some of the best football at the Daventry tournament, so well done girls, manager and coach.

n The under 14s also had a great day out on the Sunday, again with nine players all but two under 13s players in an under 14s league. They played the game how it should be played - as a team - with some great football on the day. No games lost, all drawn or won, only to lose out on penalties in the semi final, well done girls another good team performance to take forward.

n The coaches and players continue to do Rugby Town Girls FC proud. In every tournament entered this summer all teams have at least reached the semi finals (only to lose on penalties), won ‘fair play’ awards or won the tournament, not a bad start to the summer for RTGFC, and good groundwork for pre-season games.
