Kingham wary of under-performing South Redditch

After another frustrating blank weekend, Kenilworth’s first and second strings are confident of returning to Stratford League action tomorrow.

The first team travel to South Redditch Athletic, with manager Kev Kingham refusing to write off their opponents despite an indifferent campaign. “By their standards they’re not having their best season but are still in fifth place and the cup semi-final so it’s still a good year,” said Kingham.

“We narrowly beat them at Gypsy Lane, but I’m expecting this to be really tough.

“We’ve been training hard but you don’t know what shape you’re really in until you get back out on the pitch.”

The reserves host Moreton Rangers tomorrow and second- placed Blockley Sports on Tuesday evening.

 Kenilworth’s first team have been drawn at home to Quinton in the semi-final of the divisional cup.
