Well deserved 1-1 draw against fourth-place Spalding
Valley showed tremendous character in the second-half of a rain-soaked game on Saturday to earn a point against Spalding United.
The visitors had gone ahead on the stroke of half time, but Callum Powell levelled on the hour to keep up Rugby’s positive string of results.
It follows their victories over Newcastle and Goole, making seven points from the last three outings. The draw also ended Spalding’s four-match winning run.
The Butlin Road side are still 19th of the 22 teams in the NPL South Division, with five wins and eight draws in their 18 games so far.
Next weekend (5th) Dale Belford’s men are at home again to 13th placed Stocksbridge Park Steels.
