Brooke School entered two teams in the Rotary Midlands District, Festival of Football, held at the Aston Villa Football Club Academy, on October 10.
The event, now in its 14th year, was sponsored by many of the Rotary Clubs in the Midlands and the City of Birmingham Playing Fields Association. It was organised by local Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs.
A total of 17 schools entered 31 teams, so 220 pupils took part and competition was fierce.
Brooke School’s teams were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rugby. The teams comprised six players and they all gave a very good account of themselves. They won most of their matches and each player was awarded a medal. The trophies were presented by Rotary’s District Governor, Brian Kimberley.
It wasn’t the trophies and prizes that mattered; it was the sheer fun and enjoyment that all competitors had during a wonderful day out.
