GYMNASTICS: National success for Rugby boys

A number of gymnasts from Rugby Gymnastics Club Men’s Artistic Squad qualified to compete for West Midlands at the Men’s Artistic National Elite and Development Grade Finals held at the GMAC in Birmingham on November 5-7.

The boys competed across a number of age categories, in both team and individual competitions, achieving great results.

The Elite Level 2 (Under 10s) team including Rugby gymnasts Max Jenkins and Oliver Pendleton took first place, while the Elite Level 3 (under 11s) team including Luke Marsh and Alex Yoshina-Cash were third and Elite Level 5 (under 14s) team including Clayton Bell from Rugby finished runners-up.

In the individual all-round competition Rugby gymnasts Clayton Bell and Luke Marsh both finished in fourth place.

Their coach Sergey Kotlyarov said: “The boys have worked incredibly hard over the past six months in preparation for this competition and I am very proud of their achievements.”
