Gymnasts make the grade

Rugby Gymnastics saw eight of their Women’s Artistic squad compete in the West Midlands Regional Grades recently.

Aaliyah Forgione competed at Regional Level 12 and just missed out on 3rd place by 0.65 to achieve 4th with a total score of 47.25.

Beth Corcoran, Hannah Chambers, Emily O’Connor, Scarlett Street and Carys Appleyard all competed at Regional 13 and all passed their grades and achieved some great scores. Charlotte Rivers-Fletcher and Sasha Hughes were placed in the age Grade 14 category and also passed their grades .

Last weekend Rugby Gymnastic Club Tumblers competed in the Regional Tumbling Championships, with all gold medallists automatically
qualifying for the British Finals in June.

Youngest members, Poppy, Jack and Ruth competed first thing in the morning and as this was their first competition did exceptionally well with Poppy being awarded gold, Jack, silver, and Ruth, bronze. Next to compete were Lara and Eve, who having moved up a level, achieved high scores for each of their three tumbles. Nell and Nathan also competed new and more difficult tumbles and achieved bronze and silver.

The gymnasts performing national and elite tumbles were, Ben, Bing, Elianne, Georgia, Danny, Sam, Matthew and Aidan. Ben was awarded bronze and Danny awarded a silver medal. All the other gymnasts gained first place and Rugby Gymnastics Club will be represented the West Midlands with six gymnasts attending the National Finals in June. A great result for everyone.
