Georgina is national discus champion
Three athletes from Bilton Grange competed in the National Prep Schools Athletics Championships at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, having qualified from the East Area meeting in Bedford earlier in the month.
Georgina Jones, having already set a new meeting record in Bedford, became national champion in the Girls’ Under 14 discus with a throw of 28.65m, having finished 12th in the shot put earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, Georgina Woodward came runner-up in the Girls’ Under 14 75m hurdles in 12.63s whilst also finishing 5th in the 300m. Misha Rodko was the third athlete but was unable to progress from the heats of the Boys’ Under 12 200m despite equalling his PB. Chris Hodge, Head of Athletics at Bilton Grange, was absolutely delighted with their performances which were thoroughly deserved, bearing in mind their efforts and progress in the sport for a number of years.
