Keenly contested matches played in good spirit
Because of several contestants appearing in more than one final the Rugby Railway (former LMRCA) the ‘finals day’ had need to be spread over nearly three weekends.
Nevertheless the games were as ever very keenly contested and played in the best of good spirit. The results were:

Stan Bullock – this event for previous competition non-winners was fought out between two of the Club’s keenest bowlers with Mary Gollop, also appearing in her third final, beating Neil Boyd by 21 points to 11.
Ladies Two Woods – after a remarkable run of wins relatively new bowler Sue Smith lost in the final to the ever reliable Sylvia Fuller by 18 points to 5.
Men’s Championship – in a hard fought match Mick Moore won the Championship for the first time beating in form Dave Commons by 21 points to 14.
Ladies’ Championship – making it the outstanding achievement of three years in row Vanessa Brazier won the Ladies’ Championship beating the hard trying Mary Gollop by Men’s Two Woods – Dave Commons finally got the win he had worked so hard for by beating one of this season’s most improved bowlers, John Kerr, by 21 points to 8.
