The RVBC Charity Christmas Swiss Pairs took place on Saturday. With 15 tables it was the biggest bridge event in Rugby this year. The winners, with 85 VPs out of a possible 100, were Ishar & Ed White [pictured]. The event also raised £200 for the Myton Hospice.
On Monday Evening eight tables played a share and relay Mitchell movement with an arrow switch on the last round. Geoff Bennet & Helen Foster came top with 67.26. Jim Bainbridge & Janet O’Connor were second with 59.82. Third place was shared by Chris Cooper & Sue Robards and Carol & Geoff Davies with 58.63. Last week, our newest team in local league bridge played the mighty Menagerie at Coventry Bridge Club. The Menagerie team boast Grand Masters, EBU Board members and other top rated players. Undaunted, the V Team beat them by a comfortable margin and are through to the second round of the Coventry League Handicap Cup. Well done! A famous victory.
