Free two-week introduction before 30-week beginners’ course

On Tuesday, a new (temporary) partnership of Ken Miles and Terry Bradbury headed the field with 65%, well clear of Marion Dixon and Chris Malthouse (58%) and Sue Osborne and Wendy Pattinson (55%). The margin was much closer on Thursday when 11 tables were in play, with Vera and Peter Iredale (64%) leading Debbie Welch and Peter Baines (63%). Maris Smyth and Terry Bradbury were third. Friday saw Marion Dixon and Chris Malthouse this time at the top, leading from Theresa Hillier and Stuart Warne, Pam Southern and Anne Pettit. In the Master Points Competition for August, Stuart Warne is ahead at the moment with 123 points.

The new teaching programme starts on 14th September with a free two week Introduction to Bridge for those who have always wanted to know what it is all about.

This will be followed by a 30-week beginners course costing only £2.50 per session. The improvers lessons, for those who already play but want to learn more, will take place at the same time. These take place on Saturday mornings, 10am to noon at the Townsend Memorial Hall, Clifton.
