Rugby’s scratch team travelled to Leamington County Golf Club on Wednesday.

Club president, Barry Pegler was hastily drafted into play as reserve only to be beaten on the 17th. The team played well and secured a halved match, against a strong Leamington team.

n The Presidents Putter was played on Saturday, with a good entry of 102 players. Neil Buck won the putter scoring 41 points ahead of John Amer on 39 points, Steve Watts 38 points, Dave Hughes 38 points, and Martin Weaver with 37 points.

n The Ladies played their Wait Cup 2 Medal on Wednesday. Claire Scott came in with a commendable winning score of net 69 considering the wet conditions. Sandra Brazier 2nd netting 73.

n The Seniors and Ladies played a Texas Scramble on Thursday. The winners were John Marshall, Bob Robinson, Caroline Brown & Audrey Carbury with 59.8 David Ollivant, Dave Thorpe, Di Reid & Ann Page coming 2nd on 60.8.

n The first round of the National Seniors Club Classic on Friday against Henley was played at home on Friday.

Of the ‘A’ team players John Marshall halved his match then Malc Jessop won 2 up after being three down at one stage.

Danny Ramshaw managed a 4&3 to ensure victory and Gordon Coulthard then won 3&2 to wrap up proceedings.
