The 56-mile cycling section course was designed by MI Racing’s team boss Mick Ives from Baginton.

Rugby RCC enjoyed excellent weather conditions for their 10 mile time trial held on the popular Braunston course on Wednesday, with an entry of 57 riders.

The winner was David Newton, one of a trio of riders inside 21 minutes separated by only five seconds.

The conditions for once benefited everyone, with all but four riders achieving a net handicap inside 20 minutes, the handicap being won by Richard Boyd who had switched to his specialist time trial bike for the first time this season.

Having started as an early number veteran, Mike Bloom decided to try again as an unofficial number 58 and recorded a time only 24 seconds slower – his reason was part of his training for a much longer event!
