Invitation to see polo, show jumping and dressage

Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex and Rugby Polo Club hosted Dressage UK on Saturday for their Championship Qualifiers, with over 30 horses and riders entering the event.

Winners of Prelim were Emma Leslie riding her horse Robbie. Winner of the Novice class was Michelle Carman riding her Kade.

On Sunday Unaffiliated Show Jumping was held at the complex, off the A45 on the way to Daventry, when the winner of 95cm class was, Alice Vickers riding Nicko, and winner of the 85cm class was, Nicki Cooke riding Finn.

The weekend also saw two teams of Rugby Polo Club travel to Offchurch Bury Polo Club.

Rugby Polo’s Club home team Pizza Hut, captained by Phillip Baker, made it through to the final on the Sunday, but unfortunately it was rained off, to be rescheduled.

This weekend polo will be returning to the home of Rugby Polo Club at Springhill Farm, off Ashlawn Road.

Teams from all over the country will be visiting to play. Entry is free and all visitors are welcome to come and watch this fast and competitive game. Follow the club on Facebook for updates regarding weather conditions and times.

At Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex, on Saturday there will be Affiliated Show Jumping, with some of the UK’s top riders visiting. And Sunday Dressage UK will be holding more Championship Qualifiers. All visitors welcome to come and watch from their newly refurbished coffee and wine bar.
