The sessions are catered for people with learning disabilities and will be led by Sky Blues in the Community, a registered charity that runs football initiatives in the local community. Wednesday evening will include a SwimFit session for teenagers from 7.30-8.30pm and handball will be taking place from 6-7pm. A basketball session is taking place from 7-8:20pm for everyone above the age of 14 and lastly, Buggy Mums will be on offer Thursday 29th, from 11-12noon. This class is for pregnant and new mums who would like to stay or get back into shape.
Georgia Barrett, Community Sport Manager said: “Getting fit, losing a few pounds and toning up is always one of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions. It’s not surprising after the over indulgence of Christmas that festive weight gain is a problem for many; we’ve seen time and again. So we’ve organised these free activities to help people try new activities and begin their active lifestyle.”
