Saturday 6th June – The Lennon Open
Festival Week at Rugby Golf Club was concluded with an impressive turnout for the Lennon Open, with over 130 competitors and over 20 visitors playing the Clifton Road course. The bright sunny conditions were tempered by an unseasonal gusting wind, which made scoring difficult despite the beautiful condition of the greens.
Playing to anything close to handicap was a tall order, but it was Rugby Golf Club’s member Andrew Jarman who mastered the conditions with a superb net 66 to take the Lennon Trophy. Pushing Andrew all the way were Staverton Golf Club’s Colin Clarke and Thomas Waldron with a pair of net 67s.
A well supported, well contested end to a successful week for Rugby Golf Club.
