Four county golf challenge, in aid of the British Heart Foundation
Rugby Golf Club
Four members of Rugby Golf Club recently undertook a four county, 72-hole challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation. The team visited Ullesthorpe GC Leicestershire, Hearsall GC West Midlands, Daventry GC Northants and Rugby GC Warwickshire. The event took place on Tuesday 23rd June starting at 4.00am and finishing at Rugby at 9.00pm.
The four man team comprised of Club Captain Mark Ridley, Head Professional David Quinn, Ian Ridley and Richard Orman. Andy Walsh and Ian Durham were drafted in to be spotters and offer logistical support. Following the mammoth effort from all and a very enthusiastic Rugby GC membership welcoming the team on their arrival at the 18th, a tot up of pledges revealed that in excess of £1,100 was raised for the cause.
Rugby GC President, Adrian Evans welcomed all to the Club and offered thanks to the supporters and to the team on a job well done. A very tired looking Mark responded by thanking all of his team, support team, family and the members whom had travelled with the team on their epic journey.
An interesting point revealed that David Quinn had used the same ball throughout the 72 holes. If anyone is interested in buying the signed ball Dave is willing to add the proceeds to the cause.
