Members, friends and family remember Pete Reynolds

Last weekend, on a beautiful spring morning at Rugby Golf Club 88 golfers played in three separate competitions in memory of, and to celebrate the life of Pete Reynolds.

All of the club’s 2013 major winners played in a medal competition to decide the Champion of Champions. Clear winner by three strokes was Simon Wagg with a net score of 64, ahead of Richard Orman, 67, and Ollie Chater 68.

Alongside the Champion of Champions competition there was a ladies and gents stableford competition each competing for the Celebration of Life trophy.

Sue Davis won the ladies’ competition with 29 points ahead of Linda Long and Caroline Brown with 26 and 25 pints respectively. Neil Tooby’s 38 points edged out Garry Lane on countback in the gent’s competition, with Daryl Bates taking third place on 36.

Club captain Duncan Snook was joined by Pete’s mother Jane, and daughter Kayleigh to present the prizes to the winners with Pete’s father, Dick competing in the gent’s competition.

Pete’s wife Kerry along with other family members and friends joined the golfers on this special yet emotional day in Rugby Golf Club’s calendar.

Heartfelt thanks to all those that contributed to the day sponsored by Cemex, with a sporting breeze and bright sunshine seeing the course in fine condition.
