Rugby Golf Club’s juniors have again shown they are a team to reckon with winning the South Warwickshire Junior League title for the third year in a row. The league comprises of teams from Coventry Hearsall, Coventry Finham, Kenilworth, Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford who play on a home and away basis throughout the summer.

As well as winning the league, Rugby juniors played exceptionally well at the end of season League Finals Day played this year at Nuneaton Golf Club. Ben Broadhurst collected the Silver Plate for the most prolific winner this season winning all of his seven matches. Tom Cleaton excelled with six wins closely followed near the top of the rankings by Charlie Lloyd who featured strongly with some vital match play wins.

In an unrelated event, the Rugby juniors also won the Par 3 Championship at Nailcote Hall for the Ian Woosnam Vase Trophy. Tom Cleaton, helping the team win the trophy for the first time, broke the Amateur Course Record with a 51 gross.

The juniors are indebted to the help and tireless support of the Junior Organisers, in particular John Wilson, John Mortimer, Julian Leckie, Danny Ramshaw and others.
