Lauren has shot a 2 over par 74 for both her rounds at Carnoustie, finishing on a very respectable +4 and proving she can compete among the best professionals in the world.

ROUND ONE: On Thurday Lauren was going very well with four birdies and was one under at the 13th. But she dropped a shot on the 14th to be level par and then found trouble on the 16th with a double bogey five to drop two more.

But it was still an excellent performance by the 16-year-old amateur, a member of Rugby Golf Club and Woburn competing against the top professionals in the world.

The leader finished the day nine shots ahead on -7.

ROUND TWO: Lauren teed off her for her 2nd round at 11.48am on Friday. She dropped a shot on the first, but came back with birdies on the 12th, 14th and 17th, to finish the day two over par, and +4 for the tournament.

With the cut at +1, Lauren won’t make it to play the weekend rounds, but she should be very proud of her achievement in even being there at just 16, having qualified by winning the British Amateur Open at Royal Portrush earlier this summer.

At Carnoustie Lauren beat many more experienced professionals from all over the world, including England’s best known female golfer Laura Davies, who finished on +6.

The highest score for the two rounds was +16.
