Rugby Gymnastics Club have enjoyed some very busy weekends.

Twelve of the club’s Men’s Artistic boys competed in the Pipers Vale Challenge. The younger boys, Dylan Taylor-Walton, Murray Cox, Luke Marsh and Joss Phillips are all under 8.

Dylan achieved bronze for his floor routine with his overall score being 67.05, Murray’s overall score was 64.95, Luke’s 61.65 and Joss’s 57.05.

In the under 10s category Luca Marsella was placed third with an overall score of 72.50. Tyler Griffiths best piece was the P.Bars, Jaiden Khan achieved an excellent score for his floor routine and Sam Newberry’s best piece was the Pommel giving him a total score of 64.95.

The older boys, Thomas Jones, Clayton Bell and Louis Ward competed in the Under 12s and Thomas achieved 12.40 on the Floor placing him 8th with a total score of 63.90. Clayton achieved 12.60 for his floor routine and his overall score was 61.55 and Louis’s total 59.70 with his best piece being the Vault.

Owen Print competed in the under 14s and was awarded 1st place for his High Bar routine with an overall score of 54.95, this was despite an ankle injury whereby he couldn’t compete in the vault event. Great results and a good weekend for everyone.

The club had four gymnasts qualifying for the National Tumbling event at Fenton Manor in Stoke - Eliana Marsella, Georgia Whitehead, Aidan Clewlow and Matthew Bull. It was a well organised and efficient competition and although no gymnast obtained a place they all performed extremely well representing their region in their category.
