Jon is new head professional at Ansty

Jon Williamson is the new Head Professional at Ansty Golf Centre.

Originally from Carlisle in Cumbria, Jon started playing golf at the early age of two, as his father was on the committee at Brampton Golf Club.

Jon played for his County, and also earned selection for the England boys team.

He started out as a 16-year-old probationer at Stonyholme Golf Course where he still holds the course record of 63 today.

He was the youngest club champion and also went on to defend his title for the first time in a decade.

Jon has also had success as a professional, played on the Euro Pro tour and in 2010 reached the final stages of The Open Championship.

For the last 12 years he has taught golfers from beginners to Professionals, along with a first class club repair service, but yet he still has the dream of following the footsteps of his hero the late Seve Ballesteros to walk up the 18th fairway playing in The Open Championship……

November mid-week medal: 1 William Bell 84-08=76; 2 Larry Cooper 90-14=76; 3 Roger Crutchley 99-19=80.

Winter Alliance week 6: 1 Andy Wightman 43 points; 2 Owen Hawkins 41 points; 3 Steven Tailby 39 points.
