Team’s future threatened by change in FA rules
New rules introduced by the Football Association have put the future of Crick Colts FC under threat.
A new rule prevents players playing ‘up a year’ at U11s in September 2013. Crick Colts coach Ian Gidley explained: “We have five players playing up a year and none of these will be allowed to play in the U11s team.
“There is no flexibility in the rules and some of these players may now give up the sport altogether, which is a travesty.”
As a result, Crick Colts FC needs at least three new players now, boys or girls of current school year 5 (year 6 in September) to join them ready for when they become U11s next season.
“There are great benefits of joining our team” added Ian. “Apart from being a very friendly bunch, any player will be guaranteed match play and quite possibly the whole match! Consequently, their football ability will significantly improve.”
Crick Colts FC is a FA Chartered Status Club and its new ground with state of the art pitches will open this September. All coaches are FA qualified and CRB checked.
