The nomination process for the region’s largest professional and amateur sport award ceremony is now open.

This year’s Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sports Awards will see a total of 15 titles handed out with categories ranging from Team of the Year and Unsung Hero to PE Teacher of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement award.

The eighth annual awards ceremony will be held at St Johns Hotel, on Warwick Road, Solihull on Thursday, October 18.

Coventry University organises the event, with support from regional partners, to celebrate those who have made a tremendous contribution to sport at any level or achieved outstanding success.

Tom Shakespeare, sports development officer at Coventry University, said he hoped this year’s awards would build on the success of previous years.

“What makes the CSW Sports Awards special is that it is not only about honouring elite performance, but also about recognising success and achievements at grass roots level,” he said.

“Our region also boasts some of the most promising sporting talent in the UK - with many of our past award winners going on to represent the country at international level - and these awards are a great opportunity to celebrate that fact.”

A number of sponsorship opportunities are available including the headline sponsor and the chance to support the individual award categories.

The nomination window closes on Tuesday, July 31. For a full list of categories and details of how to nominate please visit
