School cake sale makes £40 for Kilsby Lane project
Rugby’s Legacy Centre project has received some extra support from pupils at Bilton Junior School, who raised £40 last Friday by selling cakes after school.
Ted Nicholas, who organised the event with some of his friends, said: “Me and my friends feel that Rugby needs to have a place where children can go and learn to play squash, learn gymnastics and have a place to play football indoors.
“We wanted to try and help the Rugby Legacy Centre and so we asked our Headteacher, Mr Edwards, if we could have a cake sale.”
In receiving the cheque, Leigh Nicholas from the Legacy centre said: “We are delighted to receive this cheque and a whole hearted thank you to all the pupils involved at Bilton Junior School. It just proves that our children want to participate in these sports and are prepared to muck in and help in order to keep these sports going in Rugby.”
