Rugby’s Mark Cossar is guaranteed plenty of local support
1,000cc Sidecar Speedway is back with a bang at Brandon next Friday (August 7) with all six finalists from last season’s British Masters preparing to do battle.
Rugby’s Mark Cossar is guaranteed sizeable local support at what promises to be an action-packed Sidecar Shootout, with an explosive showdown expected against arch rival Rod Winterburn, the current British Masters Champion.
Tapes go up at 7.30pm for the event promoted by the Heart of England MCC, with admission prices £10 (children under 16 - free). A support bill will feature action from 500cc sidecars.
“The roar of the big sidecars and their daredevil passengers hanging off the side is always a popular draw with bike fans,” said promoter Dan Crawford.
‘We’ve attracted a top quality line up and expect to see some good close racing, with many a score to settle from last season’s British Masters. There are plenty of people coming to Brandon just to see Mark Cossar try to exact his revenge on Rod Winterburn, which will be an absolute nail-biter, but we also have many other top names here who are more than capable of winning, including Robbie Wilson, Liam Winterburn and Paul Whitelam.”
