Kimberley Woods from Rugby Canoe Club has just completed a very successful 2011 season in canoe slalom, winning several nation awards.

In July at Llandysul in South Wales she won the National Junior Under 16 championships in both Kayak and Canadian classes of canoe slalom.

Following several excellent results, including several first places in the National Premier Division for canoe slalom she was first in the national rankings by 70 points and the 2011 National Champion in Canoe slalom.

Similarly Kimberley had several excellent results, including a second place in the National Premier Division, in kayak slalom - giving her a final national ranking of 7th and is the highest ranked junior 16 competitor.

In the European championships held at Banja Luka in Bosnia, Kimberley made the finals in both kayak and Canadian classes coming 7th in kayak and 5th in Canadian classes.

She also won the gold medal in the Canadian team event and bronze medal in the kayak team event.

Kimberley is now in her winter training programme, having left the Sport England under 16 Development Squad and joined the UK Olympic Development Programme as part of the UK World Class Programme.
