Solihull Sports Day

Ten RSDA members entered the Sports Day for the Disabled at Solihull and six returned with a medal.

The whole team put in a sterling performance, especially on the kurling and boccia.

The friendly event was organised by the Rotary Club of Solihull. Three of our helpers organised the kurling.

Each competitor could choose two serious events and everyone was entered for the four Have-a-Go competitions of table skittles, mini golf, target bean bag and new age bowls.

The Powers Family, newcomers to RSDA, surprised themselves with their medal haul.

Members and helpers picked up many prizes on the raffle, including the first prize of £30.

After an enjoyable day and five hours of competition, medals were presented for first and second places only to:

Mike Sheasby (silver) boccia; Robert Franklin (gold) boccia; Rupert Strauch (silver) new age kurling; Alexander Powers (gold) darts; Anna Powers (gold) new age bowls, (silver) mini golf; Pam Powers (gold) new age bowls, (silver) mini golf.
