Great week with coach Reid Currie

Youngsters at Eastlands Primary School enjoyed Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week, aimed at raising the profile of sport and the importance of good health in the school.

Coach Reid Currie from Coventry City Football Club’s ‘Sky Blues in the Community’ worked with all classes, helping them to experience a variety of sports from basketball, hockey and target golf to archery and Kwik Kricket.

PE Subject leader Jo Crinigan said: “The response from the children has been fantastic! They have loved working with Reid and there has been a real buzz around school about sport in general and which are the children’s new favourites!

“As a result we have forged strong links with ‘Sky Blues in the Community’ and are hoping to work with them to offer a wider range of extra curricular clubs to our children next year.”

The whole school also took part in a sponsored skip on Friday to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
