Simpson hits winning goal

TALENTED hockey player James Simpson scored the winning goal for England U16s at the 4 Nations Tournament to bring home bronze medal.

He was representing his country for the first time in at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Shropshire, over the Easter weekend.

James, who is a Year 11 student at Princethorpe College where he was top goal scorer for the 1st XI, played against Spain (winning 3-0) Germany (losing 5-1) and Netherlands (losing 2-0)

England were in the 3rd /4th play off match and won the bronze medal beating Netherlands 2-1, thanks to James scoring the winning goal.

James lives in Pailton, he plays for Rugby & East Warwickshire men’s 1st XI. He has been playing hockey since he was nine years old.
