Coventry have announced the addition of Chris Anderson to their backroom team in the position of Technical Director.
Anderson is vastly experienced in all mechanical aspects of speedway, and has worked closely with top riders such as Brian Andersen, Andreas Jonsson and current Buildbase Bees skipper Chris Harris during his time in the sport.
He has been a regular in the Brandon pits for over two decades, and will now be on-hand to assist all of the Bees team with their set-ups before and during meetings.
Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: “I think it’s fair to say that on occasions this season one of the areas where we have lost out has been with mechanical issues, and obviously that has concerned me.
“When we first talked about bringing someone in I was thinking about an ex-rider, but we kept an open mind about it, and it’s become clear that Chris is the obvious choice to take a formal role with the club.
“He already knows all of the riders and gets on with them, and he’s up-to-date with developments in the sport so he will add a great deal of knowledge which the team will benefit from.
“I talked things through with him at Wolverhampton on Monday and we’re delighted to have come to an arrangement which will plug what I feel was a gap in our support team.”
