New owner for Bees?
Mick Horton appears to be the man taking over at Brandon after a deal was struck with Avtar Sandhu late last week. The deal is still subject to BSPA ratification and a statement will be made later in the week when Mr. Sandhu returns from attending a family wedding in India.
Horton, who has been a visitor at Brandon for the past few meetings, had been widely tipped to take over so the news comes as no surprise to Brandon fans.
He was previously involved in promotions at Peterborough, Mildenhall and Oxford. After a few years break he now feels ready to return to the sport.
It appears that the initial deal will be for 12 months with an option for a long term deal in place if the move works out for all parties.
Colin Pratt and Alun Rossiter are expected to remain in charge of the team while Mr. Horton concentrates on the marketing side of the club.
The position was confirmed at the end of season dance on Saturday night.
Nick Morris was voted Rider of the Year on with Ryan Fisher taking the bonus point award.
Morris is not as yet a Coventry asset but with the new management structure now almost in place it is hoped that Bees will quickly make a move for him.
