News from Coventry Bees and Storm
Coventry Buildbase Bees face a race against time if they are to complete their fixtures before the play-offs start on September 14.
Thursday’s match at Swindon and Friday’s home meeting against Leicester both fell victims to the weather. The match at Swindon has been rearranged for Thursday, September 3. No date has yet been given for the Leicester fixture.
This means that Bees did not contest a league match in August and face a busy September. It also means that Bees temporarily lose their spot at the top of the Elite League table. But with only being one point behind Poole with two matches in hand, they should soon regain pole position.
Coventry Gearboxes Storm also has a backlog of home fixtures so some busy weeks are ahead at Brandon.
Bees are due to ride at King’s Lynn tomorrow night (Wednesday) and then face rival play-off contenders, Swindon at Brandon on Friday.
The Robins are managed by the former Bees duo of Alun Rossiter and Colin Pratt and have a strong line –up. Peter Kildemand leads the side with back-up from Darcy Ward and Nick Morris. The meeting starts at 7.30pm.
Storm are also in action and renew rivalries with Cradley at Brandon on Sunday.
Start time for this is 4pm.
