Rio hockey gold medallist Crista Cullen among speakers
Rio Olympic gold medallist Crista Cullen will join four other top international sports celebrities to speak at Rugby School tomorrow (Friday).
The Great Britain hockey player will speak alongside an all-star panel of GB rower Mark Hunter, GB hockey player Darren Cheesman and GB badminton player Gail Emms. England Cricketer, Varun Chopra, will be an additional special guest on the final full panel discussion.
The aim of the event, for 12-18-year-old pupils, is to bring together Olympians, sports professionals, ex-professionals and international performers to give their views on the techniques they have used to achieve peak performance.
More than 100 youngsters have signed up for the Achieving Peak Performance conference, with pupils travelling from as far as Yorkshire, to learn about motivation, training, nutrition and coping with the pressure that high level sport can bring.
The event is being organised by sport specialist Nick Tester, founder of PRC Elite, an organisation dedicated to improving results, both in the education and business sectors, by arranging for experienced and elite speakers to help individuals achieve peak performance.
“I can’t think of anywhere better than Rugby School to launch PRC Elite’s inaugural conference,” said Nick. “It’s one of the most prestigious schools in the world with incredible sporting connections and a Head Master who truly believes in mixing academia with a rich co-curricular programme that completely fits with our ethos.
“We are giving these youngsters the chance get up close to the sporting elite and tap into their experience and knowledge to improve their own performance. Education and sport is about the whole person,” he added.
