Great performances in Reading Novice Competition
Rugby Swimming Club’s Synchronised Swimming section made the familiar trip to the annual Reading Novice Competition and were rewarded with some fantastic performances, including a number of medal-winning achievements.
In the Age 8-10 Skill 0 category, Emily Ogg won a well deserved silver medal in what was her first competition experience.
Hannah Linden continued the trend and won a silver medal in the age 9-12 Skill 2 category. This creates great promise for the remainder of the season when Hannah will again meet the same competitors in higher profile events such as the UK National Age Groups in December.
Holly Tonks completed a great hat-trick of medals for Rugby when claiming the bronze medal in the age 13-19 Skill 2 category.
Several other Rugby Synchro swimmers performed with promise and were rewarded with excellent placings and scores across the breadth of the age groups and categories – all meaning Rugby will approach the second half of the year with strong expectations, starting with the County Championships at the beginning of July.
To finish the day, Rugby Synchro’s ‘Olly’ 12&U team competed in the 9-12 years combination category and were rewarded with a fantastic bronze medal for their efforts. The team continues to progress and improve at each competition and show excellent potential looking forward later in the year. Congratulations to all the members: Emily Dakin, Maisie Grinter, Georgia Lindsay, Molly Saunders, Olivia Broomhead, Charlotte Twist, Sarah Twist, Eloise Bowler-Smith, Sophie Chaloner and Ariane Sargent.
