SWIMMING: Workout programme for swimmers at new leisure centre

Join the Swimfit sessions

This month swimmers at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre in Rugby will become some of the first in the UK to try the new Swimfit Activate+ group sessions, developed by swimming experts at the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).

After witnessing the world’s greatest sporting event in London, swimmers in Rugby can now participate in a world leading workout programme at the centre, which is run by Better, a social charitable enterprise, which launches next week (from April 28).

Inspired by the structure of a gym programme, the British Gas Swimfit initiative is a fun and effective way to get fit and tone up, by following motivating sessions delivered by qualified Better-trained instructors.

Swimfit Activate+ group sessions will take place on Tuesdays at 8-9pm and Fridays at 8-9am. The sessions are free for members with an additional £1 on top of the normal swimming price for non-members.

Philip Lisseman, General Manager at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre, said: “If you’ve been inspired to follow in the footsteps of Tom Daley or Rebecca Adlington, you too can achieve your health and fitness goals by coming along to our new Swimfit sessions. Our expert instructors will welcome you, assess your goals and motivate you to achieving them. It’s an exciting time to come along and be part of the world’s greatest innovation in swimming.”
