Success at Leicester competition
Rugby Synchronised Swimming Club travelled to Leicester to compete in the 2015 Regional competition.
The morning events started off with the individual figures competition. There were some fantastic results from the girls, with Cassie Reed coming 3rd in the 12&unders, Hannah Linden also coming 3rd in the 13,14& 15 followed closely by Amelia Quinn 4th and Nayana Walker 5th. In the Junior figure competition Gemma Broad came 3rd with Emily Durkin 4th.
The afternoon started off with a gold Medal for Cassie Reed in the 12 and under solo event and Gemma Broad also gaining Silver in the Junior and Bronze in the Championship solo events. Next in the Duet events, Cassie Reed and Charlotte Twist won a silver medal in the 12 and under Age Group, Hannah Linden and Nayana Walker achieving a Silver medal in the 13-15 Age Group and Gemma Broad and Emily Durkin getting a Silver in the Junior and Championship events.
To finish off the day were the team swims with some fantastic results. The 12 & under Free Team earned a well-deserved silver medal, well done to Eloise Smith, Foteini Kalkani, Maisie Grinter, Emily Dakin, Cassie Reed, Charlotte Twist, Sarah Twist, Georgia Lindsay and Lili Carroll. Also another bronze medal was won by 12&Under Novice Combination Team with a great performance; Phoebe Saturley, Jennifer Ravenhall, Gabriella Ravenhall, Lana Penny, Nyah Munden-Edge, Hattie McMillan, Evelyn Whisker, Jess Barrett-Leafe and Sophie Thomas. To complete the 12&Under section the Recreational Combination team won another Bronze medal with Ariane Sargent, Joey Bridgewater, Charlie Putt, Elspeth Iles, Rose Potter, Emily Ogg, Anne Mynors, Eve Howard and Bethany Clarke putting in a fantastic and ever improving performance.
It was then time for the older girls to perform and they didn’t disappoint either, with a bronze medal for the 13/14/15 Recreational Combination team with Sophie Chaloner, Mae Howard, Oliva Broomhead, Molly Saunders, Jess Farndon, Anna Kempson, Emily Marston, Rosie Thomas and Katie McConnell performing well. The 13/15 Free team achieved a well-deserved Gold medal with a great swim of a new routine from Hannah Linden, Amelia Quinn, Nayana Walker, Holly Tonks, Elise Richardson, Abby Huett, Danielle Medgett and Eleanor Garrard with Freya Thomas and Isobel Ogg as reserves. The Junior free team won a silver medal with the 19 & under Recreational Combination team winning a gold medal. It was a great swim from both teams well done to Gemma Broad, Emily Durkin, Emilia Walker, Meredith Whiting, Becky Wilkinson, Rhia Perks, Erin-Dunn Morgan, Isobel Reed, Molly Port, Grace Huett, Elise Richardson, Danielle Medgett and Isobel Reed.
