Tamara and Greg on the podium at Bilton Grange Sprint
Making the most of a very local race, Rugby Triathlon Club members gained two podium places at the Bilton Grange Sprint Triathlon in Dunchurch on Sunday. Tamara Hardman was second veteran lady and Greg Ashley was second veteran man.
Results for the race, which comprised a 400m swim, 20k bike and 5k run, were: Greg Ashley 2nd (Vet Men) 1:02:16, Tamara Hardman 2nd (Vet Lady) 1:05:38, James Causer 15th (Senior Men) 1:13:19, Adrian Sarkies 16th (Senior Men) 1:14:18, Mark Macleod 17th (Vet Men) 1:18:48.
Monday saw club member Anthony Smith compete in the Leicester Sprint Triathlon, Great Glen, Leicester. He was 6th in his age group (Veteran 30) with a time of 1:06:13.
At the end of April several members took part in the Three Spires Sprint race in Lichfield. The winning relay team, comprising Stef Cuschieri, Tracey Price and Steve Childs, posted a time of 1:14:54. At the same race Andy Childs was 14th in the Veteran 40 category finishing in a time of 1:07:11.
