Fifth year of Rugby Triathlon Club event
TRIATHLON RETURNS TO DAVENTRY FOR FIFTH YEAR
Novices and experienced competitors alike will be lining up for the fifth annual Viridian Daventry Triathlon on Sunday, (August 28). The popular sprint distance event is organised by Rugby Triathlon Club.
There will be those dreaming of swimming like Michael Phelps, cycling like Laura Trott and running like Mo Farah and it promises to be quite a spectacle with the 400m swim starting in the Daventry Leisure Centre at 7.30am, followed by the 20k cycle around Daventry and then concluding with the run around the Daventry Country Park.
Courtesy of Daventry-based race sponsor Viridian Nutrition, every finisher will receive a medal.
The top competitors may have Jack Bond’s course record of 55-04 in their sights, which was set in last year’s event.
The race is in support of Alzheimer’s Society and PWSA and spectators are welcome to cheer on the triathletes.
